Hi, I am Summer.
My eclectic background includes working with people of all ages and stages, as well as with various families. I have taught expectant parents and young children, raised my own two kids, taught adult learners, and lectured to college students. I was the owner and director of New Adventures Montessori in San Diego. In this role, I led a team of educators, collaborated with families, and implemented developmentally appropriate programs rooted in Montessori philosophy. My previous experience as a lead Montessori teacher, certified childbirth educator, and birth doula has enhanced my ability to provide inclusive, evidence-based instruction that reflects diverse family values and learning needs.
I am a proud Cal Poly alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and received my Master's in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University. I also hold an advanced certificate in Early Childhood Transdisciplinary Education and Mental Health (EC-TEaMH), an interdisciplinary program focused on professional preparation and skill development for early childhood educators working with young children who demonstrate socio-emotional and behavioral problems and their parents.
I truly believe that when parents feel supported and empowered, children are more likely to reach their full potential. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and confident in their growth.
